VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Friday, June 7th 
5:00 – 6:00 pm Crew Check-in at Shannon Oaks, pop up tents with signs (time involved around 3 – 4 hours)
 
Pilots come out of pilot briefing in church and get paired with a crew. At that point the balloonist will inform crew of responsibilities and jobs they are needing, which includes: 
1. Unloading basket and envelope from vehicle 
2. Lay out envelope
3. Assist in cold inflation
4. Once inflated before take off – steady the balloon and the basket
 
If flying, once lift off you will reload the equipment into the vehicle and chase the balloon. Once the balloon has landed, help pack up the envelope and basket and come back to the field at Shannon Oaks Church.
 
If glowing, stay on the field and help assist with inflated balloon during the glow. Once glow is finished pack the envelope and basket into the vehicle. 
 
 
 
Saturday, June 8th: 
5:30 – 5:45 am Crew check in at Shannon Oaks Church, pop up tent with signs (time involved around 3 hours)
 
If the briefing is over meet in the field and look for David Black for crew/balloon assignment. You will be assisting and help the pilots as described in Friday pm description. If too windy, decision will be made by 7:00 am if not before, and you are done with your volunteer responsibilities at that point for the morning. 
 
 
 
5:00 – 6:00 pm Crew Check-in at Shannon Oaks, pop up tents with signs (time involved around 3 – 4 hours)       
 
Same responsibilities on Saturday evening except do not sign in if you are already paired with a balloonist, just go to the balloon that you assisted with Friday or wait to hook up with balloonist outside of the briefing room. If you have not been paired with a balloonist, look for David Black to pair you with a group.
 
 
*If you are crewing and helping with a balloon you MUST wear closed toe shoes.
